Hacienda Mexican Restaurant opened it’s doors in 1968 as the first full-service dining establishment to bring authentic Mexican cuisine to the Greater St. Louis area. For over 40 years, Hacienda Mexican Restaurant has remained entirely family owned and operated and committed to the highest standards of hospitality.

In 1978, we welcomed Terry Deckard into the Hacienda Family. Terry, who has been in the food service industry for over 35 years, relishes in the fact that this is a place she now calls “home.” It is Hacienda where she delights not only in serving but also having established personal friendships with 4 generations of regular guests. It is also the big “H” where she tells the story of how she met her husband Terry Dugan, or “Dugie” as we like to call him, Hacienda’s long time Purchasing Manager.

In 1981, Terry Deckard took the position of General Manager and has been one of the driving forces behind Hacienda growing into an area landmark with St. Louis’ favorite margaritas and outdoor patio. In the late 80’s, it was Terry who continued the expansion by developing Hacienda’s catering business. Which leads us to where we are today…

Hacienda is ecstatic to announce Terry Deckard, Vice-President and Event Director of Hacienda Catering Company! We would like to thank her for her loyalty and enthusiasm over the many wonderful years she has spent with us and congratulate her in heading up our full-service catering and events operations. We would also like to give a very warm welcome to Andrew Iqbal, our new General Manager!

Andrew has been part of the Hacienda family for the past 10 years. With six out of eight siblings who preceded him, Andrew decided to follow in his family’s footsteps and began working at Hacienda as a barback and bartender in the summer of 2004.

He earned his degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at The University of Missouri and has been a part of the service industry for 15 years. He was named Director of Food and Beverages for Hilton Hotel of St. Louis as well as serving as General Manager for several other prominent area establishments.
