HACIENDA’S MODERN RUSTIC MAKEOVER FUSES NEW TECHNOLOGY WITH FOUNDING FAMILY’S HERITAGE

Newly remodeled indoor bar relaunches Sept. 26 as margarita and tequila bar

ROCK HILL, Mo., Aug. 14, 2014 – With a completely redesigned bar interior, an expanded selection of premium tequilas and its first-ever tequila flight, Hacienda Mexican Restaurant recreates the atmosphere of a south-of-the-border margarita and tequila bar, right here in St. Louis.

When unveiled on Sept. 26, Hacienda’s indoor bar will have a new, modern rustic inspired design that features sleek, metal acoustic panels on the ceiling, contrasted against accent walls and bar façade clad in primitive, reclaimed barn wood. Behind the bar, a state-of-the-art tequila display showcases an expanded collection of carefully curated blanco, reposado and anejo tequila in a kaleidoscope of ornate bottles. Customers can sample an assortment of tequilas in the bar’s first-ever tequila flight. The bar now also offers mezcals and an original Mezcal Mule made with Legendario Domingo, a mezcal line owned by the restaurant’s founding family. A new, seasonal drink menu makes its debut in September, as well.

General Manager Andrew Iqbal assures Hacienda’s loyal patrons that while much has changed with the recent bar renovation, it’s still very much the same Hacienda. “Although the bar’s structure, lighting, sound and setup is different,” he says, “you’re still going to be greeted with a smile and served the same great margarita and fresh, authentic Mexican food you love.”

Hacienda is still local and independent, as well, and still owned and operated by the same family that launched the landmark restaurant in 1968. In fact, members of the family have personally overseen the renovation, hand-selecting many of the furnishings.

“Every item I selected for the space reminds me of my family in Mexico or of a personal experience,” explains Alex Rodriguez de Torres, whose father founded the restaurant nearly 40 years ago. “As a family, we want to share our heritage with our customers, and these are things that feel like ‘home’ to us. For example, the original door at Corcovada, our family’s hacienda in Mexico, inspired the new, handmade community table in the bar.”

“What excites me most about the bar renovation,” says Iqbal, “is that it allows us, as a company, to give back to the loyal customers who have made Hacienda what it is for more than four decades, while also giving a new generation of regulars something to call their own.”

Customers can experience the new margarita and tequila bar when it is officially unveiled on Friday, Sept. 26. Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, is located at 9748 Manchester Road in Rock Hill, MO. For hours and information, visit haciendastl.com.
